[comp.sys.mac.misc] Conner drives, prices

springs@eleazar.dartmouth.edu (David Fisher) (11/07/90)

Hi folks!
Recently, while reading through the latest issue of Info World, I ran
across an article concerning Conner's announcement of its new hard drives.
I find it hard to believe the prices, and even some of the performance claims
given in the article. Does anyone have any real information about them?
Some of the details on the biggest drive are: 510 Mbyte drive, 12 ms access
time, at $1295. Smaller drives have proportionally smaller prices.
Is there something that I am missing here? I am going to give them a call,
but you know you can't get the whole truth from the manufacturer, and I was
hoping that someone on the net would know more.
