On my Mac II with an internal 40 meg HD and external 50 meg HD, I
can't get Startup Device (in Control Panel) to work at all. I
use it to set the Mac to boot off of the external HD, which as an
exact copy of my System Folder on it, but the machine always boots
from my internal HD no matter what I try. I've experimented with
various system versions ranging from 6.0.3 to 6.0.7, with 6.0.5
on the external and without (I hear 6.0.5 is dominant), with minimal
system versions on each, etc. Other than this problem, the external
works like a charm.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Reply here or via
e-mail, whichever is easier for you; you're doing me the favor! ;-)
