I recieved several responces to my query about my hard drive dying. Several asked for more info, so Here it is: I was turning my mac plus off one day and accidentally turned the power strip off before the computer was done shutting down completely. Thats when my problems began. The computer reads off of the drive fine (a SuperMac Data Frame HP20 hard drive) and it also boots off of the drive fine. However, it will not write to the drive. It will attempt to write, and then will give me an error stating the there was an error in writing the file to the drive. Any attempt to erase the drive results in the computer going thru the steps, initializing drive, creating directory and then the drive comes up with the old data still intact. (it still boots) If I use the manager software to do a sector format, no dice either. ALso, I cannot update the driver, or change the SCSI number of the drive. If you have any ideas please write to me, as any mail would be greatly appreciated!
