[comp.sys.mac.misc] Clay Maeckel, Now Utilities, & Nisus conflict

pv9y@vax5.cit.cornell.edu (11/16/90)

I have some questions about DeskPicture, which comes with the Now
Utilities 2.0. I know that Clay Maeckel is on the nets, but can't
find an address anywhere. Clay, could you please send me mail? Thanks.

Just so this post isn't a complete waste of everyone's time, I would
like to say that I've been testing the Now Utilities for a day or so
now and I'm pretty pleased. I haven't noticed an incredible change for
most things because I found that I had been using the shareware
versions of a lot of the Now Utilities, but on the whole Now did an
excellent job of cleaning up and standardizing a group of excellent
shareware products.

There does seem to be some problems with Nisus, however. I
specifically found a conflict that caused the machine to crash
consistently. If Now Menus and WYSIWYG Menus are on, and Nisus is the
foreground app and Now Menus is set to pop up a menubar when the user
clicks on the desktop WITHOUT any modifier keys down, Boom! It's odd,
but I could see it being a pain. My impression is that the problem
might be with WYSIWYG Menus looking into the font menu Nisus creates
and seeing the Any Font entry, which it doesn't really know what to do
with. Jon from Paragon, any comments?

Hope to hear from you soon, Clay, and I hope everyone else doesn't
mind too much....

          Adam
