[comp.sys.mac.misc] Appletalk File Transfer

Can anyone recommend any relatively cheap applications for file
transfer between two Macs on an Appletalk network.

Many thanks,

You might like to check out an init called - er - Public Folder by Claris
which I believe has now been released into the public domain. I have never
used it before but I think it just lets people drop stuff into a specific
folder and then anyone else on the network can access it.

If you have access to ftp or bulletin boards in England then you should not
have too much trouble finding it - otherwise mail me and I shall see
if I can help.

Cheers

Is free cheap enough?

Check out "Public Folder" from Claris. It's public domain.

Public Folder or else pub/dts/mac/hacks/Oscar.hqx from apple.com

Small correction. Public Folder isn't in the public domain, rather it's
Freeware. Claris retains the Copyright to Public Folder, but make
it available to anyone who wants it for free. (I always thought of
it as AdWare. Every time you use it you see a big Claris logo and
are expected to thank mother Claris for her generosity :-)
