[comp.sys.mac.misc] UNIX/HOst Access problem

rgp@deth.westford.ccur.com (Dick Phillips) (11/29/90)

This message is addressed to some rare bird who knows both
UNIX and Host Access - and possibly something about PostScript.
At my company we create graphics on our MAC using applications
like CricketDraw, Illustrator, and Minicad. Having created
the graphic, we then create its ASCII PostScript file and, by
using Host Access, send that ASCII file over an Ethernet to
one of our UNIX machines. Then, working under UNIX, we
process the file with suitable macros.

We have been doing this successfully for years with files
created by CricketDraw, have recently done a few with files
created by Illustrator. Just recently we have begun doing it
with files created by Minicad. In the case of MInicad, we
were OK with simple graphics, but when I tried to send over
the POstSCript file of a very complex drawing, I got this UNIX
error message:

"1 base linefeeds received in ASCII mode. File may not
		have been transferred correctly."

And, indeed, the transmitted file cannot be processed. Can
anyone tell me where my problem might lie.

Since this might require dialog, I would much appreciate
someone phoning me at 508-392-2965 (E.S.T.) Best time to call
is 9:30 AM. If I do not answer, have my operator page me.
