Equipment: SE/30 Apple Flatbed scanner Digital Darkroom FreeHand 2.02 Problem: I scanned a playing card to put into my FreeHand document. I used the Line Art setting of AppleScan and saved as a TIFF file. After placing that image into FreeHand, I selected Element Info and got the Image Control dialog box. I checked Black and White and thus made the image transparent. For the design I'm doing, the image needs to be transparent. I opened the same TIFF in Digital Darkroom. I altered it a bit to acheive an artistic effect. I then saved as a TIFF file (8 bits). When I placed that image into FreeHand, it was not transparent. Nor could I-even after selecting the Black and White option in the Image Control Dialog-select the Transparent option (it remained greyed out.) What can I do to place the 8 bit Digital Darkroom-ed TIFF file into FreeHand so that it is TRANSPARENT ? Thanks, Kevin Bolduan KSBOLDUAN@AMHERST
