Is Apple producing an inkjet printer to replace the ImageWriter II? I have just ordered an IWII which I could cacel if this was true. Phil Ryan Canberra, Australia pfr654@csc.anu.oz.au phone:(61 6) 249 4678 fax:(61 6) 249 0741

According to MacWeek, 12.04.90: "Apple aims to introduce a 360-dpi inkjet printer for less than $600...the printers will come with a TrueType Startup document, decoupled from the release of System 7.0, and 13 TrueType fonts (the Times, Helvetica, Courier, and Symbol families.)" Sounds like a good deal. They are due in the spring, according to the same article. Of course, this is MacLeak, so take all information with a LARGE grain of salt. You can get a HP Deskwriter (300-dpi inkjet with same fonts as the Apple one) right now for about $600 including tax, educational discount. The HP is about $250 more than the IW II, but is worth every penny. With ATM and a few nifty laser fonts, you can produce some great output, and with Freedom of the Press Light (about $80) you can even get Postscript. Brian eck@eniac.seas.upenn.edu
