Over the last few days I've been trying out a demo copy of the "Witch" init, which lets an Epson printer use the Imagewriter LQ driver. It seems quite good. The only "bug" I've found is that if the Witch is chosen in the control panel while the modem is on it will poll the modem's serial port and crash it. I would like to be able to compare the Witch with the Macprint driver but unfortunately Macprint is not available in this part of the world. Has anybody out there compared the two? How do they rate in terms of speed and quality of print? The Witch is supposed to deliver 216*216 dpi print, the same as the Imagewriter LQ - bit hard for me to tell, since I have never seen an Imagewriter LQ. A demo copy of the "Witch" is available from Stuart David Cheshire at cheshire@Neon.Stanford.EDU. and I would be very interested in hearing opinions from anybody.
