[comp.sys.mac.misc] Lime! for Macintosh

fc156111@seas.gwu.edu (Timothy A. Waire Jr.) (12/13/90)

A while back I saw a posting about an ftp site where there was an demo version
of Lime, a midi software package.

I failed to write it down, could someone please let me know where it is??

Thanks in advance!

LimeDemo v.0.4 is available via anonymous FTP from novamail.cerl.uiuc.edu
(inet number:128.174.180.9).

The "0.4" version number is a bit misleading ... Lime is a fairly complete
Midi scoring application written by Lippold Haken of the University of
Illinois CERL PLATO Music Group.

Haken asked in his original posting to comp.music:

"If you do copy it, please send email to l-haken@uiuc.edu so we can
keep track of who is testing it."

Lime has been in development as a tool for musicologists since 1978.
The recent version released for the Macintosh is one of the first
applications to be based on Apple's Midi Manager. The program is
very impressive; with proper feedback and support from the electronic
community, I think that Lime could evolve into an important new tool
for the Mac-based Midi composer.

The principal drawback at present is that it is difficult to work
with sequencer-generated files. Please join me in encouraging
Lippold to incorporate this important feature into Lime!
