Re: Recovering data from dead floppies: If you are really desparate (and money is no object?) Polaroid offers a data recovery service. Call them for details - I've never used it, just heard about it. I believe they will attempt recovery regardless of whether the problem is data corruption or that you spilled your chocolate shake on it. Good luck. On the same line, my father owns an IBM PC AT clone that has a hard drive that is notorious for crashing when it will do the most damage. (Like the time he needed documents for an upcoming court case and the drive took a dive!) He has used a data recovery service (I don't know which one - there are quite a few these days) with great success. They were able to resurect nearly all the data with a few days. Of course, as it was stated above, these services are not cheap! But hey, if you need it back and need it badly, use 'em! It was my impression that Polaroid only would recover information on
their, teflon-coated, disks.
