[comp.sys.mac.misc] HELP! Fileguard-ed harddrive totally inaccessable

kt576396@longs.LANCE.ColoState.Edu (Kevin Tatroe) (12/22/90)

...Well, you see, this friend of mine (ahem)(was playing with FileGuard at home the other night on his SE/30. Well, he SWEARS that he never set a password for the harddrive, just for the access to folders. Nevertheless, the harddrive is now password protected, and booting from other disks only invokes the routine to type in the password the the mounting of said drive. No SCSI/Other drive util I've found ( & I've found many ) has been able to mount/locate the drive at all.

Therefore, he now has an unuusable drive. Is there any way we can reformat it and get it going again? The information on there has been given up for dead, that's fine (or at least accepted by now), but 20 megs of drive unusable is very silly.
