[comp.sys.mac.misc] SuperDrive for MS-DOS Disks

gil@daffy.gatech.edu (Gil Neiger) (12/27/90)

I am trying to use the SuperDrive on my IIsi to receive files
from an MS-DOS disk using the Apple File Exchange. I am creating
my MS-DOS disks on a SparcStation 1 using mtools. I am having
very little luck.

In the past, I was able to successfully copy only text files; other
files could not be understood by unstuffit on the Mac. Now, I don't
seem to be able to copy even text files. There seems to be a problem
with linefeeds and carriage returns, but I can't figure out the
right way to do this using the File Exchange; maybe I'm not setting
up the disks right with the Sparc.

Specifically, I would like to transport .sit and .hqx files from
archives. I have tried using mcvert to convert .sit files to .hqx
files, but, as I said, I cannot even convert the text files to
using the File Exchange.
