[comp.sys.mac.misc] jumpy mice

sethcohn@alchemy.tcnet.ithaca.ny.us (seth cohn) (01/02/91)

as a service tech, I see jumpy mice all time.
1) give your mouse a sedative - ritalin works well.
2) let your mouse run around at night (maybe buy a running wheel)
3) get a second mouse of the opposite sex

but seriously -
1) mouse is on the way to failure - the mechanism inside depends on a
sensor reading light and dark bars as a wheel turns - if it starts to
fail it begins to act funny
2) hate to say it but logic board is the next possible culprit - try
another mouse and see - I've had to replace logic boards with just this
problem
