I just recently had all my text files with the CREATOR = "????" and TYPE = "TEXT" shows up with paint icons (i.e. MacPaint documents). Has anyone else had similar problems? Is there any program that will tell me what application is making this icon appear? Basic question - how does the system or application give an icon to it's associated documents? BTW: what is a good program to use to change the CREATOR and TYPE of a document? Thank in advance for any enlightment on this mystery, =Mike -- = Michael K. Recently I posted a message on a problem I had with files of CREATOR "????" showing up with a MacPaint document icon. Thanks to all to responded. Most recommended re-building the desktop, but this is not the complete solution. The problem seemed to have been a DA/application called (Apple)Draw. The application seems to be curprit. After removing the application and re-building the desktop, everything was back to normal. Thanks again. =Mike -- = Michael K.
