I am in the market of getting the new Mac LC and would like to find out what other LC owners think about the machine. Specifically, how good is the new 12" lower resolution color monitor? I am debating whether I should get a 3rd party color monitor like the NEC 14" MacSync which if I am not mistaken cost less than the Apple 12". Thanks - Huay-Yong

I just went through the exercise of locating an LC in-stock and selecting a monitor. For one, you'll be hard pressed to find an LC in-stock, just about anywhere. You'll need to comb the mail order rags, I found one at Mac & More. Second, from the mail order people I called, the MacSync has a *compatability* problem w/ the LC. I did not get the specific details, but the sales rep I spoke to, that advertised the MacSync was no longer recommending it due to some kind of compatability problem. He went on to say, that NEC is aware of a "problem." I ended up w/ the Apple 13" RGB. rep
