[comp.sys.mac.misc] LC drive options

tvolin@gnh-applesauce.cts.com (Troy Volin) (01/27/91)

I'm in the process of buying an LC and I won't be satisfied with 40 Megs.
Apple is trying to convince me that if I want more space, I want a more
expandable machine and I want to spend another $1200. Guess what? I don't.
I'm curious how much response there would be from possible buyers to:

A) Being able to buy it with no internal so you don't waste $ on internal AND
external drives. Also, 2 drives is a hassle.

B) Being able to buy it with a larger drive ala the SI (40 or 80 meg options).

Apple has told me that enough calls to their customer service line asking for
either would justify the manufacture of the popular option. So if it seems
like a good idea to you (or if you just sympathize!!!), please call them:

(800) 776-2333.

Thanks!

You'll snd up doing it in the long run. The LC is just too limited for a MAC.
Apple is just using this as a ploy to satisfy the AppleII group. I really
think the LC will go the same route that Apple took the IIgs.

Two drives are no bigger a hassle than one partitioned drive. the only
difference you can see between an external and an internal is one is outside.
otherwise they are used the same way.

You have this option just not from apple. Apple has always tended to use mid
standard drives anyways.

Go for it. I hav not seen Apple bend to costomers wishes before, and if they
do it will be only for their gain. I'd love to see the consumer win just once
with this company. Good product, just SH***Y management.

Only my opinion.
