SUM Shield's Volume Recovery updating is suddenly crashing my machine. I have it set so that it updates the Volume Restore Record (VRR) upon shutdown, and when it reached a certain volume, it hung. So I removed the VRR from that volume, and when I shutdown the next time, it hung when it reached a different volume. I replaced SUM Shield INIT and all the corresponding files with fresh copies, and the problem continues. What's unusual is that this behavior begun after having stable combination of system and INITs/CDEVs for months. How can I get a startup screen on a Mac IIci with Apple 13" color display to display with all its colors? I'm using DeskPict to take PICT ID=0 files (created with Giffer or GIFConverter), but the remaining desktop picture loses much of its quality, especially with color files. I've heard PixelPaint uses a different format that saves the CLUT with the file -- do I have to resort to that, or is there any way to keep using PICT-type files at their full quality? So, you net-reading Mac gurus, anyone have any suggestions?
