Is there any way to turn down the "bong" sound that plays on start up? I have a Mac LC and the bong sound is beginning to bug me. I think that the volume is turned way too loud, because the sound seems to be sound a little distorted (like when you overdrive a speaker). thanks in advance and Happy Chinese New Year (The Year of the Goat), =Mike -- = Michael K. No, this tone is in ROM and occurs before any other software is loaded, therefore it cannot be bypassed with an alternate software routine like an init. You can, of course, do two other things: 1) Put a mini-phone-plug (1/8") into the speaker output jack. This gets rid of the all sound. A little bit primitive and overkill. 2) Plug in a speaker/amplifier/volume_control box into the speaker output jack. This is available from Radio Shack and would allow you absolute control. -- = John DeRosa, Motorola, Inc, Cellular Infrastructure Group = = e-mail: ...uunet!motcid!derosaj, motcid!derosaj@uunet.uu.net = = Applelink: N1111 = =I do not hold by employer responsible for any information in this message =
