[comp.sys.mac.misc] Postcript printing

rdw89@ecs.soton.ac.uk (Williams RD) (02/20/91)

I have been trying to print a postcript file, generated by the 'Print to disk'
option on Pagemaker, on a LaserWriter IINT connected to our SUN network here.
The problem I keep getting is that the printer seems to substitute 'normal'
characters for some of the more esoteric ones in Times. For example, although
capital omega (ohm), small pi and small mu print as expected, characters for
bullet (option 8), square root, not equals, come out as %,zeta,9 respectively.

The only thing I can think is that the 'times' font in the LaserWriter doesn't
have the same characters numbers as the times font on my Mac. How am I going
to get around this?

Richard.
