[comp.sys.mac.misc] printer recommnedations

mro@pyuxa.UUCP (ordum michael) (02/20/91)

I have several friends who have purchased Macintosh Classic machines and
are now interested in printers. For various reasons they are dissatisfied
with the Imagewriter and have turned to me for advice on alternative printers.
Anyone care to offer suggestions?  Price is an importnat consideration;
laserwriters are not within the reach of these folks. They are looking for
an inexpensive dot matrix or ink jet printer that gives better output than
the Imagewqriter. Being a satisfied Imagewriter and now laser user I am at
a loss of anything to recommend.

Thanks in advance -- Mike Ordun

HP Deskwriter, recently lowered price ~$635, quiet & fast. Excellent

Wait until March 11. Apple will introduce a 360dpi inkjet printer (~$600)
small enough to fit into a briefcase. And a cheaper quickdraw laserprinter
(~$1400). This according to Feb 4 INFOWORLD, back page.
