I recently purchased a Macintosh LC computer. I have an Epson FX-85
printer from my previous system that I would like to use with the Mac.
In other words, I would like to hold off a new printer purchase at this
time. I am aware of two interfaces available that will do the job:
1) Grappler (available MacWarehouse $79)
2) Graflex (available MacWarehouse $82)
My questions are as follows:
1) Which would you recommend?
2) Do these devices translate imagewriter codes to the appropriate
Epson codes in HW (ie. I would use the imagewrtier print driver)
or do they need special Epson print drivers? If special drivers
are needed, are they included with the product?
3) Do these devices emulate imagewriter I or II?
4) What is the performance of these devices? I do have laser printers
available to me at work if I need something real pretty.
5) Anything else I should know about these devices that may not be
obvious to a NOVICE Mac user.
