I saw an ad for an '040 accelerator by Total Systems in the last MacUser. I called TS, and the guy I talked to says they get an average performance of about 4 times faster that an fx. Sounds absolutely delectable. I also talked to several knowledgeable folks; they said that "all the usual suspects" would be coming out with '040 accel's as well. According to Insignia Solutions, SoftPC with the EGA/AT module runs, on an fx, about as same as an 8Mhz AT. Would this '040 accelerator bring this to approx 32Mhz?
