From New York Times of February 28, 1991:
The singer James Brown was granted parole in South Carolina
yesterday after serving a little more than two years of a
six-year sentence for aggravated assault. He must submit to
periodic drug testing and must be in probation for five years.
Meeting him outside the prison in Columbia were his wife,
Adrienne and his daughter, Deanna. "I feel good," said the
godfather of soul, in the words of one of his biggest hits.
