[comp.sys.mac.misc] Subtitling on the Mac

I'm interested in doing subtitling on my Mac IIci. I'm a great japanimation
fan and want to subtitle some of my favorite movies/ova's. The prohibitive
factor is, as usual with macs, cost. Can someone with the knowledge or
experience tell me about what card's i'll need? What software will I need?
Is the software included with the card? How much does it cost? I've heard
that the Mac and Amiga are the best genlocking computers for subtitling movies.
Can I get some opinions?

Does anyone have experience with subtitling movies from laserdisk to vhs
using a mac to do the titling? I'm interested in finding out what cards
are availiable that can do this (with multicolor lettering) and what software
is availiable (particularly pd). I know you can do this pretty easily with
an amiga 500 (for under 500 bucks used) + a supergen card (about 300 bucks) +
some pd subtitiling software.
I have some scripts as text files and would want a program that can allow you
to synch the lines the first run around, then place them according to the
times (and maybe some neato self correction stuff).
Any info would be greatly appreciated...
