I have been using Apple's (unsupported) desktop manager for a while now (desktop updating took too long without it) and I've been having a problem getting the finder to use the correct Icons for documents without BNDL resources. Specifically, when I create a document on a disk/partition that doesn't have the owning Application on it, I get a generic document icon instead of the specific icon the document is supposed to have. Doing "Get Info" in the finder correctly identifies the owning app. Copy the document to the partition containing the app and the icon is correct on that partition. Copy the document back and the icon is generic on the destination. Copy the app to the same partition as the as the document with the generic icon, and the new app has the right icon but the icons for the document remain generic. How do I fix this??? Thanks for any help you can give me. Peter C peter@viewlogic.com -- (O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O) (O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O) (O) !the doctor is out!
