I never realized that Apple's prices were so high. Notice the previous price of a 4MB/80HD SE/30. The NeXT bomb comes when Apple releases their 040 machine with builtin ethernet. -Mike

They look like academic prices to me. If they are this is not a fair comparison, it should either be list or academic for both not a mixture. I suspect that the NeXT prices will still be cheaper than the Mac prices but the situation is much better now. However I would like to see the Mac prices even lower, but I guess that goes without saying. I think the NeXT monochrome normally costs $4995 with everything, and the color station costs $7995($2000 monitor). By the way, the color NeXTstations were officially released yesterday. -Mike
