A couple of weeks ago I posted a note about my difficulties printing Postscript files on the LaserWriter IINT connected to our Sun network. At the time I thought the problem was probably with Apple File Exchange. 'Special' characters like bullets, integral signs etc in Times were printed as 'normal' characters like U S etc, while normal characters and graphics came out ok. For some reason, probably best kept to themselves, Aldus include special characters in their postscript output as the characters themselves. This tends to cause problems when Apple File exchanging. However the Apple LaserPrep outputs postscript with the code summary for special characters, like (\259) or whatever. This translates ok. Why can't the Aldus driver do it this way? How much better is the Aldus driver than the 6.0.2 Apple version?
