I've been asked to look into options for networking High School teachers in upstate NY. All of the teachers involved have Mac SEs or Classics. Currently, they call in to a quickmail server using Laison and 2400 baud modems. This has been a little flacky. For now, I'm trying to consider various possibilities, including stand alone (custom) BBSs, TeleFinder (from Spider Island Software), or anything else. The system should be able to call back the teachers after they briefly call in. Conferencing ability would be nice in addition to mail. It must be extremely easy to use. We don't have a lot of time to train the teachers (for most, this is their first experience with Macs). Any experience or suggestions? Also, anyone know of SIGS for HS teachers on commercial services? Your contribution to education is most appreciated!
