Hi, I tried running the Gambit Scheme interpreter on a couple of Macs (a Mac Plus with no internal disk, and a Mac II with internal disk) and it worked fine. Then when I ran it on my friend's Mac Plus (for whom it was intended) with 20MB hard disk, I had the following problem: The interpreter throws up its own window. It did so, and while waiting for the Scheme prompt (maybe 10 seconds), suddenly it printed a message (in the same window): 00135.0 Load Memory Overflow for about 1 second, then exited and I was back where I started before trying to run the application. I tried this several times, from the floppy and from the hard disk with identical results. Now. Second strange piece of information. I noticed afterward that the modify date on the floppy copy of the interpreter was today (I had erased the hard disk copy by then). That's fishy, it should have been two days ago. I see no reason why the machine should have rewritten this file out to the floppy. None of the other files on the floppy looked suspicious. Has anyone ever had such a problem? Does this sound like a virus, and if so, what do you recommend I do to get rid of it? My experience with Mac's is pretty much nil. In case it's relevant, the finder pop-up window (click on apple) listed the following: About Finder Alarm Clock Calculator Chooser Control Panel Find File Key Caps Scrapbook Thank you all dearly.
