In a related observation regarding Helvetica, I found that in order to have Helvetica working "properly", I had to remove the Narrow Helvetica font. This happened from using Suitcase where if I go to fonts and "Show" them, I found the font sizes available for Courier, Times and Symbol ranged from 3, then 6 to 127. In Helvetica, it was much more limited. Later on, by removing N Helvetica, everything was fine.
