I have had little success getting documents containing scanned photos to print on my laserwriter IINT, and I've finally gotten fed up and would like to find out what the problem is. Currently I am putting some scanned photos in a Persuasion (v. 2.0) presentation, and the presentation prints until it reaches a slide with a scanned in picture. Then printing stops, with print monitor saying, as I recall, that the status is processing job. Finally it times out, and print monitor says it can't print the job. The laserwriter seems hung, and we have to cycle power to bring it back. This has also happened with scanned pictures in Textures documents. I have managed to print out small scanned pictures in Persuasion documents, but large pictures cause the behavior above. I can also usually print out the scanned picture if I open it up from Canvas. Thus, I suspect that the size of the scanned picture is what causes problems. Is this so? Is there a fix? Other details: running off a IIci with system 6.0.5, Laserwriter 6.0.1 (grayscale or b&w doesn't seem to make a difference), connected to a LW IINT as it came from the factory, with postscript 47.0. There is a Liason gateway on another IIci between the printing IIci and the printer, but as far as I have been able to tell, that doesn't make a difference. Printmonitor is running with 1032K of space (yeah, a little overkill). Thanks for any help you can offer. Willard Korfhage korfhage@weston.poly.edu
