I use DD and am a satifified customer, almost.
No, it does not seem to affect my Plus. You do get to see the automatic
decompression upon opening and compression upon closing. I don't find it
a problem, but speed demons might. My Plus has 4Meg of memory.

Its Easy. The manual is quite readable, thin, and the work is trivial.

Don't know, and yes I am just as worried about many of my software
packages breaking, requiring $$$$ upgrades, with System 7.0. Progress?

I have an old GCC 40Meg External drive (FX40). Its noisy, but works well. I
purchased DD with the intent of extending the life of my disk by
using compression. DD breaks the GCC supplied software spooler for
the imagewriter. If I want the spooler to work and not waste a box of
paper the DD init must be removed. If I want compression then I must
disable the GCC spooler, for printing . One of lifes little annoyances
that I probably won't fix until I see what software upgrades are required
for a Plus under System 7.0. The Canadian prices for hardware & software
 are outrageous.

I am a satified customer of the DD product and have no affiliation with
DD or Salient. Now if I could only get my spooler back!

I just got DD and put it on my Mac running System 7.0b4. While the application
seems to run fine, the DD menu doesn't show up, so I can't do anything in
the Finder, nor can I set preferences. This is version 3.1.1 of DD; is there
a later one?
