I have a IIsi 2/40 that I just bought about 2 weeks ago. I have several problem
s already with the system:
1. While I copy a QMS PS-410 utility disk, it always crashed with
system error exectly when it copies the sample folder.
2. I ran Shanghai 2.0 when the game is done (I lost) after the
the sound the program made the system crashed if I choose
to restart a game.
3. Some other assorted problems.
Now, my questions are:
1. Is there a different between IIsi 3/40 and 2/40 besides the memory
configuration?
2. Is the problem copying the disk in (1) above happens with other
IIsi or some sort of problem with my hardware or system?
3. Does the program in (2) above have problem with any IIsi?
My IIsi configuration is:
IIsi 2/40
external HD 105
RasterOps 24s with NuBus Adapter driving Seiko CM1445
Abaton InterFax 24/96
QMS PS-410
both HD's were formatted using OnTrack HD management software
Inits: ColorFinder, DeskPict, RasterOps Ext, TMON, Rival,Window,
Init Cdev, Directory Assistance, After Dark 2.0, Mouse 2
Any from you guys out there I greatly appriciate it.

This is because QMS has some files in this folder that begin with a period, which is a no-no! Before copying the disk, rename the files so that they don't start with a period, then copy. -- Craig Ruff NCAR cruff@ncar.ucar.edu (303) 497-1211 P.O. Box 3000 Boulder, CO 80307

Does the program in (2) above have problem with any IIsi? This is a known problem with Shanghai 2.0; contact Activision/Mediagenic to find out when the bugfix version will be released (or send me mail and I can send you a patch you can do with ResEdit). -- Russell Finn rsfinn@lcs.mit.edu
