As you may guess the stylewriter is cheap and pretty nice but pretty slow, so is there a spooler I can run on the Mac Classic? I hope this is not too much of an off the wall question! thanks, Farshid

A question in which I am also deeply interested. I quote from the April 1991 issue of Australian MacWorld: "The StyleWriter does not at the time of its release support background printing (print spooling) under MultiFinder; Apple's choice was to get the product out the door and follow up as quickly as possible with an updated printer driver to add that capability, sorely needed for an otherwise slow printer. We understand that SuperMac's Super spoolers do work" Does anyone know whether the last sentence is true? Martin Davies at davies@athena.mit.edu will be picking up his SW from the MIT shop on Tuesday next, having been persuaded in this direction by the collective wisdom of the net - he'll be trying SuperSpool as soon as he gets it so the Real Facts should be obtainable from him.

Max, According to a message posted on CompuServe (MACAVEN, subtopic #11) by Bill Bradford of FGS Tech Support, SLS 2.02 is compatible with the StyleWriter. You can e-mail Bill at 76004.2301@compuserve.com. Fabian Ramirez SuperMac fabian@cup.portal.com
