I'm working on a film that needs a relatively large number of Macintosh computers. Unfortunately, they are apt to get a bit worked over in the process. Since most of the machines don't need to appear to be on during the filming, I am looking for Macs that are cosmetically ok, but functionally dead. To be more specific, I just need cases -- the macs don't need to have motherboards, power supplies, disk drives, cables, or even mice. Dead keyboards are optional. The cases don't need to be in perfect condition, either -- they just need to LOOK like they are in working order from an some angle (other than the bottom.) So, if you have somthing that looks ok from the back, but has no monitor, or a monitor that has a hole in it (air got in) or has something burned into the screen, that's fine too. Even fire and flood-damaged stuff is ok, as long as it falls within the description above. I'm not in the repair business, and when I'm done with them, I'm just going to give away whatever is left in whatever condition it is in. (Please don't send email requesting them -- I'll post a message to the net when the time comes.) If you or a friend have a very dead Mac, please send me email. This is not a professional film, so there isn't much of a budget -- I'll pay shipping for dead Macs, and some small amount of cash for ones in really good cosmetic condition, but I can't afford to spend hundreds of dollars on props. I'm looking for around 20-25 dead Macs. Thanks, Shaun.
