Does anyone out there have a PC/Macintosh network using Token Ring and Novel Netware? I have several questions and would like a general description of how your system is set up. We have about 800 PCs and 200 Macs and would like to hook them together. We are currently running Novell Netware 2.11 on the PC network, connected by Token Ring with 4 and 16 mbits/sec data transfer. First of all, when we checked in to connecting the machines earlier, there was some sort of problem with using TokenTalk. The Macs couldn't access a different ring other than their own. Beyond the bridge, the Mac couldn't read the network. I believe that was using AppleTalk Phase I, and that the problem was because of the limitations of it and that AppleTalk Phase II will fix it. But I'm not completely sure. Does this sound like it could possibly be a different problem? Second, what other TokenRing options are there for Macintosh beyond Apple's TokenRing nb card? (It's expensive!) We would like to have 16 mbit/sec options. And what are their prices? Third, we have cc:Mail for our PCs. Does anyone know if there is a Macintosh version and how much it costs? Please respond with personal email to me and I will summarize the responses on the net. Thanks! Jared Oberhaus Carnegie Mellon University
