[comp.sys.mac.misc] database progs for the mac that will compile into a binary

I'm looking for a decent db prog to write bibliographic utilities in,
but it is important that I can compile stand-alone apps.  IS there
anything that can do this?

I don't want to write shit from scratch --- a prog with distributable
run-times would be ok, too.
