I'm doing some volunteer work for a non-profit organization, and they desparately need some software; unfortunately, they have no money. Has anyone had any luck/experience getting donations of software (DBMS, etc) from developers? Any chance of getting hardware? Any chance of getting hardware? Varying.... Generally, the larger the company, the more well established the corporate giving program. Microsoft has a fuzzy giving program; they have given out copies of Word and Works. Aldus gives out Persuasion, PageMaker and FreeHand through the Gifts In Kind program, a United Way program based in Washington DC; handling fees are $25 (which gave rise to the slightly ridiculous procedure of a Seattle non-profit writing and waiting for a DC group to ship software from a Seattle software company.....)
