Hi, Can anybody help me to get a method to un-Z files on a Mac? These are files I ftp from Unix sites. I'm trying to read several back-issues of a network magazine byt they are all archived as .tar.Z. I think I can un-tar but I can't test it before I can un-Z. Perhaps someone knows a Stuffit De Luxe Add-on? Yours, Berend de Vries Comp. Dept. Medical Faculty Univ. of Amsterdam The Netherlands

No StuffIt Deluxe translator (yet), but there is an excellent utility that handles unix compression: MacCompress by Lloyd Chambers. This freeware utility is available by anonymous ftp from sumex and its mirror sites in the /info-mac/util directory. It's text compression is rather remarkable, by the way ... it routinely achieves 70% compress vs about 55% for StuffIt Deluxe and Compact Pro. Don't ask my why, but ... the right tool for the right job, I guess? Bill (johnston@minnie.me.udel.edu)
