University of Pennsylvania Medical School Information Management Specialist II (Coordinator of Instructional Technology) $28,000.00 - $32,000.00 Position Summary: This position assumes major responsibility for the efforts of the School of Medicine to integrate computers into the medical curriculum. Under limited supervision the person must investigate, plan, assist in the development, implement, and evaluate computer based educational programs. The coordinator serves as the primary contact and consultant with the medical faculty for such activities. Responsibilities: Coordinate education software development activities for the School of Medicine. Develop and lead projects, including design, programming, supervision of student programmers, and software evaluation. Serve as consultant for educators on use of educational software. Establish and develop relationships and contacts with other institutions. Serve as Macintosh consultant for the School of Medicine, performing troubleshooting, networking, and making software recommendations. Assist Chief Information Officer as a liaison between the school and the Academic Programs Office. Assist in the development of long term educational plans as part of the information systems planning process. Assist in the operation of the microcomputer laboratories within the School of Medicine. Qualifications: B.A. in Computer Science required. An M.Ed. and/or experience in the health sciences, highly desirable. Familiarity with the Macintosh computer and interface guidelines, understanding of computer networks. Good interpersonal, supervisory, and project management sills.
