[comp.sys.mac.misc] Refilling the Deskwriter ink cartridge

ccocswr@prism.gatech.EDU (Winston M. Rast (Georgia Tech Mac User)) (05/01/91)

I realize this was discussed a couple months ago or so but I didn't pay much
attention then (please forgive).

Can someone out there give me the info on where to buy those (don't even know
what they're called) kits that refill your ink cartridges on the Deskwriter?

Appreciate it _very_ much! :^)
Winston

The kit is called the "JetFill". It costs $10.95 + S/H (plus $2.00/min
"900" service phone charges) from "BottomLine Distribution". Have your
credit card out, and talk fast!

Caution: the JetFill has been badly reviewed in this newsgroup.
The last reviewer pointed out that an ordinary lab syringe worked better.

For those of you who don't fancy syringes squirting ink, Scott Mandell
recently posted an offer to refill DeskWriter and DeskJet cartridges
for a nominal fee. I sent him an empty cartridge last week and it
was returned promptly; ink quality better than the original, on a par
with the current "Water-Resistant" HP inks.

Scott can be reached at:

cavalier%alchemy.uucp@theory.TN.CORNELL.EDU (Scott Mandell)

Send DW cartridges to: 114 Eddy St. #1
                        Ithaca, NY 14850

My price was $5 shipping and handling; good deal when compared
to best mail order prices of about $15 + S/H or retail prices
in the low $20's.

In article <52295@nigel.ee.udel.edu>, johnston@oscar.ccm.udel.edu
stupidly forgets the phone number:

BottomLine Distribution:1-900-420-3636 (Note: 900 numbers are a pain,
but it was the only ad I found.) BottomLine does have good prices.
