[comp.sys.mac.misc] TALK for the mac

cmm1@cunixa.cc.columbia.edu (Christopher M Mauritz) (05/03/91)

Has anyone written a split-screen chat program like the unix TALK for
the Mac? There are well over 50 users on my Mac network and it sure
would be handy sometimes to have a utility like this.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Chris

Try the Broadcast 1.2 cdev ... should be at Sumex. Not exactly TALK,
but can do (one message at a time) the job.

You also might like to try applejam. It think it's located via anonymous
ftp at sumex-aim.stanford.edu.

Enjoy!

Or if you want to shell out some bucks, the Quick Conference selection
in QuickMail does a pretty good job too.

Or you could bug Pete Resnick (resnick@cogsci.uiuc.edu), who's been saying
that he wants to write such a program (<duck> Sorry, Pete :-) )
