I have Version 1.0 of Talking Moose (a Desk Accessory), but invoking it
crashes my mac to the "bomb" system error panel. It crashes just as the
moose picture comes onto the screen, but before any moose phrases are said.
I suspect that there may be a problem with the version of Macintalk in my
system folder. Anyway, here's all the details:
* System Error ID = 02 and 28 (the "bomb" panel flashes between these two)
* Versions installed:
Finder V 6.1.4
Sound V 3.3.1
System V 6.0.4
Macintalk - no version number available. Creation date 1 Jan 1983.
Thanks for any clues to the problem. Please email me as I don't read these
newsgroups.
Thanks!!

The Talking Moose is now a commercial product and is well worth the few bucks they ask for it. The current version is 3.0, and I have been promised that a new version is in the works to support System 7. Check it out - the moose has been taught a few tricks since version 1! Version 3 is definitely an improvement in many areas. However a lot of the fine-control options that existed in Version 2.0 do not exist in version 3.0. Frankly, I wish I had some of them back. I don't want the moose to speak every Menu selection, Window, Dialog, and Alert, but I wouldn't mind him speaking just alerts or just Dialogs or etc., etc. Also, it would be nice to have more control over the delay time, instead of just a few selections. In addition, you now can't edit the On/Off phrases. However, these are only small problems with an otherwise terrific product.
