Creating a newsgroup to discuss one tv show is ridiculous. Just discuss it in net.tv. We can easily "n" key past it if we're not interested. -- Mark Callow, Saratoga, CA. ...{decvax,ucbvax,ihnp4}!decwrl! ...{ittvax,amd70}!qubix!msc decwrl!qubix!msc@Berkeley.ARPA

With the current deluge of trivia there, I think we should try to break up net.tv into more manageable groups. Notes gathers responses 'under' the note they are responding to and you can jump from base note to base note without seeing the responses at all. It's great. scott preece pur-ee!uiucdcs!uicsl!preece

I agree that if net.tv is getting unmanageable it can be broken up into subgroups. However, I don't think that there should be one subgroup for every program that has a large following. Intead it should be broken up into subgroups based upon types of programs. E. g. net.tv.soap for soap opera lovers, net.tv.sitcom for situation comedies, net.tv.public for public television. I am not advocating these groups; it takes a bit of consideration to come up with a good subdivision scheme and these groups were just listed off the top of my head. I do believe that they are an improvement over creating groups for single programs. Kenneth Almquist

I am still waiting for the creation of the command "N" (that's capital-N), meaning " ... and don't even ask me if I want to see any follow-ups to this article" If you had the notes package you would already have that ability. Not exactly. Notes lets you skip ofver all of the followups for one session, but the next time you enter notes, you see the new followups that have arrived. Kenneth Almquist
