[comp.sys.mac.misc] Looking for a 512 system

I'm currently using system 3.2 and finder 5.3 on a 512.
Are there any other anachronisms out there who can help me?
I was told that system 4.2 and finder 5.5 won't fit on a 400k disk,
but isn't there a way to have your application boot up (for a given floppy)
and bypass the finder? In that case, couldn't I use a system that takes up
more K?

Yes, you can "Set Startup" to an application, which will bypass the finder.
A much better solution to your problem would be to get an 800K external
disk drive. As long as the 800K disks are formatted MFS you will be able
to use them in an external drive with the old 512 Macs.
