Forgive me if this seems like a stupid question to some of you -- just call me ingnorant. :-) How do I use the System 7 downloads from ftp.apple.com? From what I can tell, they seem to be "images" (.image files) of 800k disks, but when I try to put one on an 800k floppy, I get the "not enough room" message! It says the floppy is 40k short! What's up? What do I do? Thanks! Gary Arnold garya@plague.berkeley.edu

(I just noticed that that was posted with the name "MC68040"! How the H*ll did that happen?) Thanks to all the people who replied to my question! There were a lot of you, so I don't really feel like replying to ALL of you, so here's a general "thanks a bunch, guys"! For you who are asking yourselves the same question (I had one person ask me for the replies I got, and I know there are "lurkers" out there), you need the DiskCopy (4.1 or 4.2), available at ftp.apple.com in the /dts/utils directory. Or, you can use the MountImage CDEV from sumex-aim, which mounts the image to the DeskTop without having to copy it to a floppy. Thanks again! Gary Arnold garya@plague.berkeley.edu
