I just spoke with somebody at LaCie tech support who said: 5.27 (which I have) works with system 7 in 24 bit mode (so no 32-bit addressing, and no virtual memory). I didn't ask about earlier versions! 5.28 works fine with 32-bit addressing and virtual memory (!), EXCEPT THAT it has a bug which causes trouble if you try to password-protect the boot volume. 5.30 (not yet available) will correct that bug, and so be fully system-7 compatible. I'm using 5.27 right now without any problems. -- Russell owen@astro.washington.edu

I'm currently using 5.27 (with System 6.0.7) and have noticed the problem with a password-protected boot volume. It only occurs on some machines. I'm glad to hear their correcting it - I guess I'll have to wait for 5.30! -- Andy Peterman | Opinions expressed treehouse!andyp@gvgpsa.gvg.tek.com | are definitely those of (916) 273-4569 | my employer!
