Folks - My prof is looking for a portable Mac for use in Europe this summer. 1. He doesn't like the price, weight, or features of Apple's Mac Portable. 2. He needs the box to do Euro-voltages and all that stuff (it would be appropriate if he could use it when he gets back here in the US too...) 3. We'd like to avoid popping ROMs from his current Mac, but we'll consider it if we really have to (I recall some early non-Apple portables being shipped without ROMs?) 4. In case it's not clear, we want a laptop (we don't want to carry around an SE or Classic) and it MUST run Mac software (no MSDOS laptops, thanks.) 5. We need it THIS summer, not next fall when the new Sony-assisted Mac laptops are supposed to be due out. I remember hearing about two companies with such beasties a couple of years ago: DynaMac OutBound Does anyone have current addresses/phone numbers on these outfits if they're still around? Information on other similar companies? Any info is appreciated; PLEASE reply by email since I can't keep up with the volume in these groups. Thanks in advance.
