[comp.sys.mac.misc] Graceful upgrade advice wanted

OK, I've finally gotten into ftp.apple.com long enough to grab System
7.  What is the most graceful way to upgrade?  Should I just run the
installer and pray for the best?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
